Here is the new location of the new 00 gage ground cable. Note that it goes directly from the battery to the engine block to provide full starting voltage. The old ground cable is still attached to the orginal FMC location on the frame. It was removed. That location requires the starting current to travel from the battery through a cable to and along the frame and then through a second cable. Two cables and four connections for the ground side alone.
Due to the new cable and the new direct attachment location, the one volt drop between the block and the negative battery terminal during cranking that my coach was experiencing was eliminated. The old frame to block cable by the starter remains to provide grounding for all of the other chassis circuits.
