This is an in-line thermostat. I will be taking it apart and checking the function when I replace the rubber hoses soon. It lets hot engine water pass through it, but I have an issue with hot water reaching the cab. I do get hot water heating the hot water heater up front though...still need to investigate. Well after investigating, this heater hose only supplies water to the HW heater, and to the added extra engine water cooler. I know now that my dash heat is supplied from the RH side of the rig, tied into the rear bedroom heater loop etc...still need to trouble shoot that system.
