West Coast Plymouth Rally-Nov 2012
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums)

This album illustrates the enjoyment and learning that FMC Coach owners had at the recent rally. We had 9 FMCs and one SOB trailer plus two coach owners without their coaches do to inoperative conditions. The pictures are courtesy of Stephen Heinrichs and Larry Enoksen.

What interested them was the side panel mounting of the transmission and engine oil coolers with a fan to ensure good airflow.

And another look down the middle of the parked coaches.

Then it was on to Ed Marshall's coach #848. Now the ladies also liked this coach as they could say that they were in the same coach that Clint Eastwood slept in as he was the original owner of this coach.

As you can see, the full group was listening to the coach's background.

While others were touring, Greg and Don were in deep discussion. Another interesting fact that came up was that the prototype offroad FMC was shorter, 4 wheel drive, and had TWO engines. Both were AMC 360 V8's driving through 727 loadflite transmissions. One engine was in the standard rear position and drove the rear wheels while the other one was under the kitchen and drove the front wheels.

Then it was on to Dean and Laura Lumibao's coach #886. You will note that their coach is only two numbers ahead of the Camrye's coach!

You can see that there is a slightly different intrusion into the storage compartment as they have a nicely done, custom interior a large counter on your right as you enter the coach. The upholstery has been done with white leather.

Their's was also the only coach at the rally with the supplemental storage compartment added under the coach.

They also have a rather unusual tow vehicle as it is a VW powered tricycle.

It looks like Gage Miller is ready to go!! Varooom, varooom!

Notice that most of the engine compartment doors are now open and left that way. Much easier to wander from engine compartment to engine compartment!

With coach tours completed, we gathered at the hall for a club meeting.
