West Coast Rally - Nov 12-14 Buellton, CA
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums)

This is a collection of pictures that show a little of the activities at the rally. We all had a great time renewing old friendships and creating new ones. The photos were taken by Stephen Heinrichs and Eric Whedon.

This is coach 1046, Heinrichs, getting ready to roll to the rally. Note that three compact Fire Boxes are stowed in the storage bay ready to roll.

Friday was the beginning of the rally and that evening it was time for a fire. We used Jim Woestman's Fire Box for it's first fire. Note that the box has his coach number on the ends.

The next morning began a beautiful day. Here is Jake Whedon riding around on the large grass area in front of the coaches. We were in the end row of Flying Flags RV Resort and had a nice view.

Here are all of the FMC's lined up. From the left they are #708-Miller, #1046-Heinrichs, #621-Herbert, #59-Ruiz, #587-Whedon, #617-Woestman, #386-O'Connor, #400-Day.

This is #400 owned by Harry and Sandy Day of Oregon. It was the most original coach at the rally.

On the right we have coach #386 owned by the O'Connor's who are the club's newest members. On the left is #617, Woestman, who came the furthest (1,700 miles) for the rally.

Coach 1046 had a tree next to the driveway at home jump out and attack! By prior arrangement, Jim W. brought his fiberglass repair materials and expertise with him.

Nice looking coach, but it will look better after the bandage is removed!

Jim is very focused on his work.

This is what Jim was faced with when he climbed up the ladder.

After mixing up Jim's expertise and a special tool Ron Herbert made by bending one of his screwdrivers, this is how it looked a little later. Ron's tool was used to remove the insulation from behind the fractured fiberglass and then a patch of new fiberglass was added to the back side of the fractured area for strength after small clamps aligned the edges. Note the damage to the top right corner of the aluminum vent duct.

Time to relax and enjoy coach discussions. On the left is Michael Firman whose coach #270 was up north at home. He was working in the area, but was able to slip away for a while to come join us for some good conversation. Next to him is Eric Whedon, Jake Whedon, Jim Woestman and Greg Miller.
