Oregon Mini-Rally 2009
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums)

This album has some of the pictures from the rally that was held at Casey's RV Park east of Eugene, OR in August of 2009. The trigger for the rally was the visit west of the Borrmann family from Ontario, Canada. Those of us that were avilable gathered and had a wonderful time. The pictures are by Stephen Heinrichs and Ed Hannevig.

This sign was used back East and transported all the way West and left no doubt in passerby's minds about who we were. As usual, lots of questions.

This is the first photo appearance of coach #520 owned by Ed and Evelyn Hannevig of the Salem, OR area. They purchased this coach in Arizona three years ago and Ed overhauled the top end of the engine and now this original coach runs like a top. This is their first FMC Coach Owners Club rally.

Another view of #520.

Another largly original coach is #400 owned by Harry and Sandy Day, also of the Salem, OR area. They have put many miles on this coach having owned it since the early '90's.

Coach #587 is owned by Eric and Toni Whedon of Gilroy, CA and is also largely original. The awning is going to be removed when Eric learns how to do fiberglass so he can patch the holes that will be left.

As many of you know, this is #645 the highly modified coach of Frank and Suzanne Borrmann of Ontario, Canada. It is a truely fine rig as Frank does very good work. Note the Freightliner headlights and Dodge Caravan turn signs (turned upside down). The headlights required some fiberglass work to make them fit.

On the right we have coach #1046 owned by Stephen and Jane Heinrichs of Dixon, CA. It is a somewhat modified original coach. When this coach was at the Rt 66 rally in June, it was the only gas coach with the 3 others being diesel. At this rally, all of the coaches were gas except one.

It didn't take long for the engine compartments to be opened up. Here Harry and Eric are looking at Eric's new exhaust pipe installation.

On the left is Evelyn and her dog, Tim. The rest of them have formed a BOGSAT (Bunch of Old Guys Sitting Around and Talking) only a couple of them aren't so old! The guys in this picture are Harry, Stephen, Frank and Eric.

Now you might think that this is a picture of Toni and Eric Whedon. Well, they are included, but this is really a picture of the bird on Eric's plate! This was the bravest, most forward bird we had ever encountered. It felt nothing of jumping into the middle of any of our meals. If it had larger drum sticks and we weren't such nice folks, it might have become the next meal!

Okay, if you like dials and guages here is what you can aspire to achieve. Evidently, Frank has a surplus of guages, lights and sensors back home at his garage. This is the dash of #645 and somewhere in there I am sure there is a speedometer, tachometer and a fuel guage!

Frank was accomanied by his wife Suzanne, daughters Rebecca and Rachel as well as his son, Jesse (to be seen later!).
