INVERTER WIRING TO OEM TRANSFER-SWITCH | ||
Author: andy1canada (Show all albums) Thanks again to Hal for helping me with this. If you're adding solar, or, simply want to convert 12V house-battery juice to 110/volt AC current to run a microwave or most any 110-V appliance, you'll need to address the connection at the transfer switch in order to manage the flow control from: shore power/the genset/solar power. Hal helped me sort this out with this simple connection at the OEM transfer switch. In the pic you can see that I've hand-drawn in the red 10/2 wire from my 3000-watt pure sine inverter, it comes into the pic at the upper left. It was a while ago that I did this, so if my explanation is haywire maybe Hal could jump in to clarify. The black wire is the 'jumper' and connects the two terminals shown. The white wire is the 'neutral' (I think). Note: it's unclear to me if I installed the thinner 'white' wire across the bottom two terminals in the pic, or if it was already there. I accept no responsibility if you decide to follow any of my advice here. The orange wire is the ground - I think. This set up works for me. There's no conflict with the solar (440' watts) or when I plug in to shore power or run my generator. Hope this helps someone, somewhere, someday. |
