West Coast Oregon Rally Oct 2018
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums) This album is a sample of what we did and enjoyed at the rally at Casey's Riverside RV Park near Oak Fir, OR. We ended up with seven FMC's, and two SOB's out of the twelve people that originally intended to attend. Coach and life issues sometimes come ahead of rallies! The photos are by Stephen Heinrichs, Larry Enoksen, Helen Wolfe, and Jim Steinborn. |
| |||||
The initial step was to organize the signs in Stephen Heinrichs' garage in preparation for placing them in strategic locations along the highway letting attendee's know that they were not lost! Larry Enoksen came early and helped. | A view up the line with the river on the left and coaches on the right. That is Joe Lieto's coach #324 in the distance. | In the early morning one could see the mist rising from the river. | Joe Lieto gets a special picture as he has owned his coach for eight years, but this is the first rally for him and the first time he has actually seen an FMC coach that was not his own! If you look close you can see his macho marker lights and the CC on his mirrors. We think that stands for Country Coach!
Some coaches all looking at the river! From the left they are #324-Lieto, #400-Harry and Sandy Day, #968-Larry Enoksen, and #1046-Stephen Heinrichs. | To the right of #1046 are #850-Dan Karnath and #839-Jim Steinborn and Bill Rogers. #839 looks a little different because it is a converted Denver Transit unit. It has over a million miles on the chassis. | The nights got nippy which was nice for around the fire and the days were great as they were in the mid-seventies. | Coach 1046 with Stephen at the helm has traveled a little over 45,000 miles in the last three years. That included two trips to the east coast and twice to Ontario, Canada.
This is coach #846 which is repaired and piloted by Terry and Vicki Anderson of Victoria, BC, Canada. He was a little late as he had a steering pump failure, but they persevered and made their first FMC rally. | Here we have Jim Steinborn, Harry Day and Dan Karnath at the rear of Dan's coach. | Our initial ring of chairs was behind Dave and Helen Wolfe's travel trailer. They had the central heater fail and since they are from Manitoba, Canada where it gets cold they left the FMC home and came with the trailer. later, we added tables and had a potluck dinner here and then an evening fire. Pictured here are Bill Rogers, Joe Lieto, Sandy Day and Dave and Helen Wolfe. | Our first fire of the rally in the FMC Firebox. Fellowship continued into the late night hours!
