Space is at a premium and there isn't room for the reservoir so I'll need to remote mount it. | This is the master cylinder I'll be using. It was used on 2016 F550 trucks, the same vehicle the calipers I'm using came from. | The rod to the left goes to the brake pedal. There is an additional diagonal brace not shown which will make things very stout. | Here is the bell crank. I used Oilite bushings and added a grease fitting just for ducks.
Here is how the unit will mount. | I decided to go a different direction with the brakes. I built a bell crank to mount the hydro boost and master cylinder to the left 90 degrees. This will mount in the same location that the OEM master cylinder resided. By using a single master cylinder that was matched to the trucks calipers everything should work in tandem. A bunch easier to bleed this system for sure. | Here are the adapters for the disc brake conversion. Lots of chips made in the process. You can see the rotor sitting on one of the adapters-real bonus, the holes all lined up perfect. | Huge 15" Ford rotor and matching caliper. Almost 2.5" larger diameter than the fMC Transits used but easy to find.
Using Bendix pads. | Waterjet cut brackets. Lucky I had the steel on hand. | Decided on doing the Ford disc brake conversion. Couldn't have even tried without Matt Fitzsimmons help. My GMC buddy Wally roughed out these aluminum spacers for me-really cleaver, talanted, great guy. Can't thank them both enough. | Checked the a/c solenoid valve and built new hoses. A/C as well as heater hoses.
