u-joint difference between stock and 1410 series The Neapco 1410 to 1480 u-joints are p/n 3-1448 | Shows the difference in the yoke shaft diameter, new shaft is larger and 16 spline vs 10 spline. One nice thing about 16 spline is that you can get a true 90dg phasing which can't be done with the 10spline (you can only get 72 with two teeth or 108dg with 3 teeth rotation). I talked with a couple driveline shops and both said that if the angles are unequal(as they are on an FMC) then 90dg phasing is proper installation. | (1 Comments) new driveshaft installed with the new differential end yoke, super tight fit but it's in! All parts are spicer. End Yoke: p/n 3-4-6221-1X Slip Yoke: p/n 3-3-1511KX Yoke Shaft: p/n 3-82-811 | emergency brake modification was a breeze, just extended the stock bracket a bit and it was pretty much a bolt in using the factory FMC u-bolt to retain the cable.
Shifter cable mounting went much quicker that I expected as well, have great travel with no geometry problems at all.Very little fab required, I only had to make the angle mount and on the allison shift arm I had to remove the male attachment pin, the rest is factory FMC hardware. | mocking up the intake system, this will be a true "cold air intake" as it will be completely isolated from the engine bay. Filter is a Donaldson pn-P537452 originally spec'd for 5.9 and 8.3 cummins and some C7 cats in freightliner chassis. | this is where it will draw in the air, being forward of the hotter engine bay air will help keep IAT and EGT down | slight jog forward to get to the new duct opening
and this is the other side as it enters the interior, this entire area will be boxed in...the whole bed structure is going to get some rework to be a transverse queen size | New intake tube installed and air sensor transplanted on it. | I'm not happy with this flex hose, I'll have to source something better, but, this is the idea. | opened up the fan hole in the original shroud to 25.5" to allow for the new larger fan.
