Finally we got it right. | First attempt in the vacuum bag also failed. The laminate was oversize and the edges snapped right off. | We heated the laminate to shape the radius. We failed a couple of times until we got the temperature just right and kind of a feel for how to do it. Then we clamped it down and after it cooled of it keot the right shape. | (2 Comments) Buiscuit joints on the nose piece. |
Yes! Vacuum laminating the Formica next. | Here Henning is gluing the lower extension on the edge. | So far so good | The big issue with the countertop is the original raised nose edge. The red piece is the original one. This kind of woodwork is way out of my league and my good friend Henning has come to my resque. |
