West Coast Gold Beach Rally - July 2013

Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums) This album covers a little bit of the fun we had at the Gold Beach, OR rally. We had 8 FMC coaches plus three more owners whose coaches were not able to travel at this time. This rally was unusual in that we had a major Saturday activity with a jet boat ride up the Roque River. It was enjoyed by all that could make it. Back to speed you can see that Carlton Camrye has to hold onto his cap to keep it from blowing off. Joe, his son, is behind the hair to his left.	Then we have the ever popular Turkey Vulture! They help to keep the world clean.	Here is a much larger osprey nest. Note the size of the nest relative to the size of the osprey sitting on the edge of the nest. Osprey mate for life and come back to the same nest each year and add a little more to the nest. This nest shows that it has been used for many years.	We had been watching osprey dive for fish in the river while at the RV park. This is an osprey nest with an osprey in it. They like the tops of tall trees.
The trip up the Roque river is more than just a boat ride. Our skipper, Kevin, kept an eye out for varous wildlife that we came across with explainations of their habits and how they fit into the ecology of the area. In this case, the rock we are looking at has a cormorant sitting on it. They dive to catch fish.	Soon, one of them slowed and pulled up to the neighboring dock and we climbed aboard and were also headed upriver. Here we have LR Nuntawan Camrye, Gage Miller, Michael Metsch, Lisa Lee Miller, Alice Kamm, and half of Larry Enoksen.	Saturday morning we were greeted by the sounds and sights of fast boats heading upriver.	Ruth Miller has enjoyed growing up traveling in the family's FMC. You will hear more from her later.
We had a great time consuming everything that was on the table which included other stuff as well.	(1 Comments) Dean and Laura Lumibao were the hit of the evening when they showed up with 20 cooked crabs that Dean had just caught and cooked just before the rally. They live on the coast in Crescent City, CA an hour or so from the rally location. Thank you Dean and Laura!	Oh boy, look what showed up! This was a suprise.	They were joined by Larry Enoksen in the green shirt and Ruth Miller in the foreground.
