Just another DuraMax swap
Author: hal (Show all albums) Converting 669 to an oil burner. |

Another shot of the DS mount | DS in place. | Checking frame for level. | Pretty close I'd say.
Frame plate for motor mount support. | New bolt in cross member. Easy access to oil pan. | Trans mount. Used old motor mount bushings, attempted to keep mount as high as possible. Lots of gusset here. | Other end of trans mount.
You can see some of the gusseting here. Thats not going to move. | Motor needs to be level with frame too. Hard to find a flat spot on the Duramax for the level but this worked. | Here's what I came up with for the fuel sender/ supply return for the tank. Got to say I HATE welding on a fuel tank!!!! | I used a 1/4" 8" round piece of steel for the weld in plate to the tank. Drilled and tapped 20 equal spaced holes for 1/4 x 20 threads to hold the sender in place.
