Felton Rally Nov '09
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums)

This is the album for a few of the pictures of the rally held in Felton, California Nov 6-8, 2009. We had a total of 10 FMC coaches at the rally and 13 owners for all or part of the rally. The furthest attendees came from over 2,000 miles way and the closest was 5 miles. Regardless of distance, we "met the nicest people" and had a great time. We missed you and hope to see you at the next rally. The photos are the combined effort of Ron and Louise Herbert, Harry and Sandy Day and Stephen Heinrichs.

Harry Day and Cliff Cappos are having a general, uninterupted conversation and .....

....making 'smores and visiting with Mary Lou Ruiz.

Here we have Nuntawan Camyre snuggling with her son, Joseph. Rallies are a great family activity as all of the young ones made new friends and had a great time. In the background, Eric Whedon is .....

....back to the campfire for an extended evening of fellowship, mechanical and interior design discussions and tall tales!

After dinner, Mary Lou Ruiz, Ken Clugston, Jim Woestman and the rest of us shook our meal down and headed ....

As was clarified that evening, there was 1,052 coaches built including the two prototype coaches. While we didn't have the opprotunity to get coach #1046 amd #0002 together for a side-by-side picture, here are the two owners. Stephen on the left and Cliff on the right. All but seven FMC coaches were built in between the construction of the coaches owned by these two owners.

Yes, the sky is the limit! This was Earl explaining the sales projections. Unfortunately, actual events impacted the cost and sales numbers used in the projections and things turned out differently. While the finacial projections didn't work out, we have the benefit of the of the very well designed and built coaches. They still look good today.

At the end of the general presentation, Earl opened it up to questions from any of the attendee's. It was at this point that a local dinner guest of the Clugston's was able to add to the program. He was also an employee of FMC, but in the Ordinance Division and had been there for twenty years prior to the formation of the Motor Coach Division. He gave an account of events from another division's perspective. Earl later stated how interesting he found that information and discusion. Spontaneous things happen and you need to be there to benefit.

The presentation was very well done and informative.

This is Earl Anderson, our guest speaker and Assistant Sales Manager for the FMC Motor Coach Division, starting his presentation.

Eric Whedon and his daughter, Katelyn, await the arrival of Toni, wife and mother. She had to work Saturday and arrived a little later, but in time for dinner and the evening program.

On the left is Cliff Cappos, #0002 and Ron Herbert, #621, visiting prior to dinner.
