Felton Rally Nov '09
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums)

This is the album for a few of the pictures of the rally held in Felton, California Nov 6-8, 2009. We had a total of 10 FMC coaches at the rally and 13 owners for all or part of the rally. The furthest attendees came from over 2,000 miles way and the closest was 5 miles. Regardless of distance, we "met the nicest people" and had a great time. We missed you and hope to see you at the next rally. The photos are the combined effort of Ron and Louise Herbert, Harry and Sandy Day and Stephen Heinrichs.

Note that #587 has additonal locked storage behind the front bumper.

Next is Coach #708, the Miller's

On the right is coach #1046, the Heinrichs and on the left is coach #621, the Herbert's.

And then on the right is Anna's SOB, and on the left is #617, the Woestman's. At this point I want you to look at the space between these two coaches. That is a space! Note the green at the bottom of the tree in the middle and the red concrete pad at the lower right. They don't normally rent this spot, but I had confidence that an FMC could be manuvered into it.

And I was right! Note the green at the left of this picture and the location of the concrete pad. Then look at the prior picture again. He is parked BEHIND the tree! Who is this marvelous driver and which coach is this?

Why the driver and owner is Cliff Cappos who left San Diego after work on Friday and stopped along the way for the night and came in on Saturday. We are now up to nine FMC coaches. Which coach is it? Well it is coach #0002 and Cliff, on the right, is talking to Jim Black who is the owner of coach #0001. Their coaches are the two prototype coaches that were built and rebuilt as neccessary before starting actual coach production. When actual production was started, they started with number 0001 again and so there are two number one's and two number two's but these are the true number one and two. Harry Day is monitoring the conversation.

But what is this? Another coach and we are out of parkig spaces! Yes, this is coach #509 and it is not ready for actual use yet as it's owner just bought it two weeks before the rally and it hasn't been used in a number of years.

And here is the owner, Dale Maggio, getting ready to hit the ground and explain his jewel. Since he lives just 5 miles from the rally location he was able to bring the coach over on Saturday, take it home for the night and then bring it back on Sunday for more "show and tell".

As it got to be mid-afternoon, Earl Anderson, former Assistant Sales Manager of the FMC Motor Coach division and our guest speaker, arrived. Here he is talking to Greg Miller. He noticed the Clugston's Vogue (on the left) as he walked past it and said that after the GMC, the Vogue was their stiffest competition for the high end buyer.

Here is a general view. On the right is the Clugston's Vogue, then FMC #888, #400, #059(hidden), #587(hidden), #708(hidden), #1046, #621, SOB, #002, and #617.

Revealing the hidden coaches, from the left we have #708, #587, #059, #400, and #888.

Here are Jim Woestman, Brian Gorman, Ron Herbert, Paco Ruiz and, in red, Nick Camyre.
