the mud-dobbers must be relentless in Sedona...I've found their nest in everything!

I have to admit, I completely ignored the "no welding or torch" warning when I plasma cut the top of it out this weekend..

drivers side bolt in radiator mount, anchor nuts will be welded in the frame. Shroud will be modified to a two piece design allowing easy removal.

new passenger side radiator mount, this will be a bolt in mount, it will allow for the radiator to remain in place while the fan and shroud can be removed for accessory maintenance.

fit check of the raditor, it's over 2" lower than it was originally which better centers it to the fan.

opened up the fan hole in the original shroud to 25.5" to allow for the new larger fan.

I'm not happy with this flex hose, I'll have to source something better, but, this is the idea.

New intake tube installed and air sensor transplanted on it.

and this is the other side as it enters the interior, this entire area will be boxed in...the whole bed structure is going to get some rework to be a transverse queen size

slight jog forward to get to the new duct opening

this is where it will draw in the air, being forward of the hotter engine bay air will help keep IAT and EGT down

mocking up the intake system, this will be a true "cold air intake" as it will be completely isolated from the engine bay. Filter is a Donaldson pn-P537452 originally spec'd for 5.9 and 8.3 cummins and some C7 cats in freightliner chassis.
