Using pole jacks to eliminate the sag and put some pre-load into the new structure. | Nice to see wheels and tires on it again. I was able to give it a quick spin around the block before elevating the rear for the next round of work. | Had a mobile fiberglass guy come in and patch in the relocated fuel fill and repair some damage to this panel. Color matched the new pass thru door to the cream gel coat color. | New front leveling jack mounts fabricated and installed, needed this done before I lowered the coach back to tire height.
Front passenger side leveling jack mount uses the bumper attachment fasteners and four more that I added...it's not going anywhere. | (2 Comments) Mock up design of new frame structure in wood 2 x 2's. The opening for the pass thru storage complicated the a rear upright geometry so I'm just going to double up on the tube for that diagonal. | It's a lot faster to work in wood and at only $1.80 for an 8ft stick its cheap to do. This will save me a lot of time when it comes to the finish product in steel square tube. It will also help me map out the cut lengths to keep scrap to a minimum. | sure goes quicker when you have a 3D drawing to follow
Drivers side support assembly installed | I'm real happy with the tight fit up. 1.5" square tube was the perfect size, I used a combo of .190" and .120" wall to get the strength but not so much weight. | This is the most critical of the install, all the load is bore here. I got about 48" of weld on in this area so it should be rock solid. | Every bit that could be welded got some
