passenger side intake bank, cleaned out what I could...I'm not pulling the whole top end apart.. | intake bridge after a good scrubbing | no one that's ever seen the intake downstream of the egr and pcv would ever leave those systems in place, this is typical (I've pulled apart three different duramax turbos and all look the same) of what the egr and pcv system deposit in the intake stream | pulled the turbo to allow for better cleaning of the engine and easier removal of the intake bridge
completed enough of the fabrication that it was time to pull the motor back out | good shot of tube routing with the radiator back out | vise grips, washer and saddle from a muffler clamp, pretty simple recipe | got to love google, found a simple solution to make my own beads on the intercooler tubing
had to fabricate a clamp standoff to keep the hose clear of the fan | lower radiator hose solution was pretty easy, used half of the donor hose and added an elbow. secondary hose will likely be the heater return | (2 Comments) I couldn't find an intercooler in the size I wanted (31x24)that had both inlet/outlet on the same end, so, I bought two 31x12 intercoolers and I cut the end tanks off and will fabricate a new single end tank | interior side of newly fabbed heat shield
