Used 3/8"x4" flatbar to weld directly to the swing arm. | I had to remove the brake assy at the backing plate to get to the under/backside. Nodular iron welds up pretty easy, even in overhead position.. | Couldn't resist, I mocked up the dash as it will look when finished. | I reused the small switch panel that previously was populated with now removed systems. EGT and Boost gauges just fit with all the interference that's behind them.
After kicking it around I decided to just go with all new switches and make everything match. Scan Gauge II lets me monitor stuff like Inlet air temp and a few other things that the cluster doesn't. | Having the tap shift and tow haul buttons close to the shifter and at a comfortable/easy to reach position was important. I can rest my hand on my knee and reach these easily. | New 3 gallon aluminum air tank, pre-plumbed as much as a I could. Tank purge valve, swivel hose connection, air horn valve and pressure sending unit all installed. | tank is installed on the backside of the passenger front wheel well, fits up in there nice and doesn't take away from the storage area.
Safe-T-Plus installed, these things really work well and give a much more positive "return to center" in the steering. | No chassis style mount available for the FMC...so I made one using the material from the mount that came with it when I got it off craigslist.. | fabricated two heavy angle supports, these will bear the bulk of the weight of the house battery bank. | new house battery bank, 580ah, I used the original air conditioning belly pan and laminated it with 3/8" thick HDPE so it will carry the weight without bowing.
