Northern Calif Work Day - Oct 2010
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums) Here are some photos of the Northern California workday held in Gilroy, CA. The attendance was up to 5 coaches. This was a two day affair with a barbeque Saturday night when the "workers" were joined by some additional family members who also brought food for the barbeque. Join us next time! This workday we took the opprotunity to drive four of the five coaches so that the steering, handling, and brakes of the coaches could be compared. Three or four people drove each of the four coaches that we test drove (coaches 1046, 708, 509 and 888 in that order). After our return, the floor jack assisted in evaluating and discussing the handling and mechanical aspects of the coaches. A lot of good interaction occured. |

This is Greg Miller installing a new powered Fantastic vent on his coach. This replaced a very old non-powered vent. Coach 1046 also got a new vent installed in the bedroom. I didn't get a picture of us both on top of our coaches cleaning and scraping and discussing the best procedures to use to install the replacement vents, but that is the type of interaction that a Workday is all about. | .... and then the evening came and it was time to relax. | Here is an FMC Fire Box taking the evening chill out of the air. | The original and only FMC Club Fire Box was won by Denny Shewmake at the rally in Minden. I have since had one made with my coach number on the end.
The Fire Box greatly improved the ambiance of the evening barbeque which was greatly enhanced by the arrival of food and adult beverages. The kids did marshmellows and 'smores on the fire. A good time was had by all. | Here we have the group in one place. From the left we have Greg Miller - 708, Eric Whedon - 587, Dale Maggio - 509, and Carlton Camyre - 888. Eric's work stepvan was a great source of tools, AC stuff, and electrical connectors. Stephen Heinrichs - 1046 is behind the camera! | Oops! Stephen found himself in front of the camera. Here I have the right side exhaust pipe which since May of '09 has been coupled to the rest of the system with a pumpkin can (long story, but it works!). The goal was to replace the pumpkin can with the SS flex coupling. That was unsuccessful that day, but will be completed at a later point. | Here is a closeup of the old and new. Please note that Stephen has grease on his hands and arm! Some were of the opinion that he couldn't operate anything more challenging than a camera. The pigtail coming off of the exhaust pipe is for the oxygen sensor for the Edelbrock fuel injection system. Come join us next spring for the next Northern California Workday!
