Rt 66 Rally - 2009

Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums) This is a photo gallery of a few of the photos taken by Stephen Heinrichs. The first few pictures document a little of the 2,000 mile trip it took to get to the rally location in Springfield, MO from California. The rest of the pictures document the visits to special attractions arranged by the Rally Master and Route 66 itself. A great time was had by all.

Earlier I mentioned that the Klugston's coach blew an engine and that they we using their van for the rally. In true coach fashion, the van developed a water leak and needed refilling.	Here is a full view of the bridge and the coaches.	And here is the front view. A classic bridge with classic coaches.	With a 20,000 lb. weight limit, only one coach could be on the bridge at a time.
We stopped at this bridge for a photo session. The pictures follow.	When we stopped, I was able to get a clear picture of the painted on road markers.	We are on the old road. The newer road is to the left.	You need to keep a sharp eye out or you can miss the directional signs.
Up and over the old bridge.	Kansas painted the Rt66 highway sign on the road. This helped keep us on the correct route!	We saw a lot of nice areas.	On the road.
