Then I masked of the areas for the labelling and spray paintet it with black vinyl paint. | The whole panel is made from tranparent "Plastic". With woodlike vinyl on the front and some labelling on the back. Washed of the old brown paint that was on the back then sanded and buffed the backside to a ok finish. This is half way in that process. | The labelling on my dashboard panel was aged and did not look so nice. | For the engine; distributor, coil, temp, oil pressure, compressor, alternator and tachometer. Silicone insulated wires in flexible steel tubing.
Drivers side. One cable from the front. Two for the engine and one over engine to passenger side. Wiring for the rear lights in separate cable routed low along the frame. | (1 Comments) Almost there.I ended up splitting the wiring from front to back in a few cables and routed them to each side of engine. This eliminates a lot of the wiring across the engine and the connectors are now history. | This is how most of the workshop floor looked last night.I'm back at doing electrics as I want to get the big ol' dash back on. Reconsidered my prewious work and decided to tear it all to go hardwire all the way. | (1 Comments)
(2 Comments) All LED. | (1 Comments) Ground posts on both sides and a positve post close to the fuse panel. Trying to minimize votage drops and corrosion. Everything still kind of a mess but we are getting there. | (1 Comments) Got some original style fuse blocks from a marine store. | (1 Comments) These are the original stainless arms. I drilled the rivet attaching the original clip and secured the newer style clip whith a 4mm inhex screw in that same hole. Whit this setup I managed to use a 22" blade on the passenger side and a 21" on drivers side. i think I can recomend this mod. It gives a little more "wiped areal" and with new clips and blades it's like in any normal newer car; tight and silent. Also I will not have to worry about the wipers coming loose again sctatching my new windshields.
