Engine rebuild

The old forged crank looks really healthy after a very light deburring and a good clean up. We'll have to wait until bearing squish is measured to see for sure if it's good to go back in as is.

The engine block is back from the machine shop, acid cleaned, 030 overbore, new camshaft bearings and a new fuel-pump axle bushing. Picture also shows the water pump housing that has been acid cleaned and the old pistons. Now Now I guess it's time for some tedios cleaning before starting the rebuild. Always wanted a Mercedes with a V8 in it, this is probably as close as I'll get.

Squish is good

Camshaft innstalled

NOS never installed TQ.

The original HP/truck/"six pac" rods part nr 2951908

Checking ring gap

All 8 pistons innstalled. During this part of the job I wish I had made my own cylinder number marking of the connecting rods. The factory marking was kind of poor and very hard to read. Luckily the machineshop had all the pistons innstalled correct
