Craigslist score of the month. Safe T Plus steering controller, bought ten years ago and sat on the shelf, never installed. $90 shipped is a solid $250 savings as I was getting ready to pull the trigger on one! | new master cylinder plumbing including 10psi drum brake residual pressure valves. | slave cylinder plumbing | Tapped into the original rear brake line, the leg that goes to the master cylinder now connects to the hydroboost slave cylinder, the leg that goes to the rear brakes now goes to the new master cylinder.
(2 Comments) Steering box pulled, plan to rebuild it while I'm reconfiguring the hydraulic system to incorporate the hydraboost | Original master cylinder set up, I don't need any of this with the hydraboost setup as I only need a single port to run the slave cylinder. | (2 Comments) New Hydroboost master cylinder, this is a clutch master cylinder from a late 80's jeep, it is sized to drive the slave cylinder on the remote hydraboost set up. | (2 Comments) found the source of my "floating" emergency brake handle assembly. Mounting tab was only single side welded, and then not even the full length of the tab.
this is a view of the emergency brake mount tab weld from the outside of the wheel well. I welded it top and bottom and from both sides. I also added a new mount bolt lower on the assy to reduce the leverage on the mount tab...should get another 20yrs out of it.. | Had some rain this weekend so I shifted to the dash as I can stay dry in the garage doing it. I built some aluminum angle mounts to attach the cluster to the outer plastic dash bezel. | (2 Comments) I inset it so that the top of the cluster is flush with the FMC dash bezel and brought the bottom in to reduce the amount that it sticks out, it will still protrude but won't be nearly as exaggerated. | Dash assembly had to be opened up in a couple spots for this to drop in but not a huge amount of cutting.
