I'm using an electronic operated fan clutch but am trying to look ahead to any issues with the fan not locking tight enough to cool the engine. I've modified the fan clutch mounting hub by adding some 5/16" grade 8 studs and will have 6 angle brackets which will lock the fan solid if needed | Here you can see the angles in place. Installing them should be a simple job if needed. A lot easier doing it now than later on the road. | I had some heat blanket left from another project so used it to wrap the muffler. Best to keep all the heat possible out of the engine compartment. | Inside face of the insulation. |
Nice to have things going together for hopefully the last time. Lots of radiator in this shot. | (1 Comments) With the wider and somewhat lower radiator it was necessary to open up some more air ways. I cut an extra two rows just below the existing and widened the lower valance with additional vents. The new location for the exhaust is also visable. Lots of time involved here as new bracing was needed as I made the louvered section behind the radiator swing out like the drivers side door. | Ended up relocating the primary trans cooler. It was just too tight below and with the added swinging door support so move it did. You can see both rear opening doors in this shot also. | Have started on the wiring. This is looking at the bottom of the rear fuse panel. Integrating the donor steering column into the equation really complicates the job. The dash fuse panel will also be installed up front with the body control module. Wish me luck. |
Found some LED's for the rear. Used some scrap aluminum for a bracket to replace the OEM plywood mount. Needed to recess the bolts so the mount will sit flush. | I used JB Weld to attach these to the rear fiberglass.The bolt is flush with the FG and gives a bit of adjustment. | (1 Comments) Here's a look at the back side. I needed resistors to keep the flasher happy and the small rectangular box is the sequencer. | (2 Comments) Cleaned up and ready to install. I'll be running seperate backup lights (as soon as I find some I like). The sequencer on the lights should generate a few remarks. |
