Converting 669 to an oil burner.

Here you can see the ring drilled with 20 holes that will hold the sender ring mount. I used 1/8" for this one. I cut the donors tank up to retrieve the ring. Not the cleanest approach but it should work.


I used a 1/4" 8" round piece of steel for the weld in plate to the tank. Drilled and tapped 20 equal spaced holes for 1/4 x 20 threads to hold the sender in place.


Here's what I came up with for the fuel sender/ supply return for the tank. Got to say I HATE welding on a fuel tank!!!!


Motor needs to be level with frame too. Hard to find a flat spot on the Duramax for the level but this worked.


You can see some of the gusseting here. Thats not going to move.


Other end of trans mount.


Trans mount. Used old motor mount bushings, attempted to keep mount as high as possible. Lots of gusset here.


New bolt in cross member. Easy access to oil pan.


Frame plate for motor mount support.


Pretty close I'd say.


Checking frame for level.


DS in place.
