Fabrication on all the rear air bag mounts is complete, I can reattach the shocks and install/plumb the airbags now. | Access hole in the bottom plate allows you to install the air bag mounting hardware | Drivers side rear air bag lower mount, the tube structure is 1"x2"x1/8" and then plated both top and bottom with 1/8". Bottom plate is welded both inside and out. Gusset is 1/4" plate. The swing arm attachment is 3/8"x4" flatbar. | Perfect use of the old air conditioning condenser mount location, just required a little beefing up to carry the extra weight. With these installed I can remove the heavy steel plates that were installed on the backside of the front bumpers to assist in handling.
Power Safe SBS145F batteries, 145amp hours each, and 100lbs each. Made in the USA and typically used for higher end solar setups, they have a 10yr expected life. | new house battery bank, 580ah, I used the original air conditioning belly pan and laminated it with 3/8" thick HDPE so it will carry the weight without bowing. | fabricated two heavy angle supports, these will bear the bulk of the weight of the house battery bank. | No chassis style mount available for the FMC...so I made one using the material from the mount that came with it when I got it off craigslist..
Safe-T-Plus installed, these things really work well and give a much more positive "return to center" in the steering. | tank is installed on the backside of the passenger front wheel well, fits up in there nice and doesn't take away from the storage area. | New 3 gallon aluminum air tank, pre-plumbed as much as a I could. Tank purge valve, swivel hose connection, air horn valve and pressure sending unit all installed. | Having the tap shift and tow haul buttons close to the shifter and at a comfortable/easy to reach position was important. I can rest my hand on my knee and reach these easily.
