Here are the adapters for the disc brake conversion. Lots of chips made in the process. You can see the rotor sitting on one of the adapters-real bonus, the holes all lined up perfect. | I decided to go a different direction with the brakes. I built a bell crank to mount the hydro boost and master cylinder to the left 90 degrees. This will mount in the same location that the OEM master cylinder resided. By using a single master cylinder that was matched to the trucks calipers everything should work in tandem. A bunch easier to bleed this system for sure. | Here is how the unit will mount. | Here is the bell crank. I used Oilite bushings and added a grease fitting just for ducks.
The rod to the left goes to the brake pedal. There is an additional diagonal brace not shown which will make things very stout. | This is the master cylinder I'll be using. It was used on 2016 F550 trucks, the same vehicle the calipers I'm using came from. | Space is at a premium and there isn't room for the reservoir so I'll need to remote mount it. | Here is a view of the adapter bungs and holder that will be used for the remote reservoir.
Here is the hold down strap for the bungs. The bungs are upside down in this shot. | Another view of the assembly. | Reservoir has to be relocated as there just isn't room above the master cylinder in its new location. I had to remove the fill for the water tanks and will need to find another location. There was LOTS of silicone on and around the fill and a bit of rest below. Didn't think much of the factory fill location with all the turns and anguished routing. | Here is a test fit for the bell crank, hydroboost and master cylinder. pretty tight as you can see.
