This is with the spare tire mounted. | Front view. | Angle view. The assembly hooks over the top of the bumper and then two J bolts hook under the bumper to hold it. This one had an extra bolt through both the assembly and the bumper for security. | Looking down from above. Note the bolt on the right that holds the unit upright and rigid. The rod on the left holds the swing arm in place after it is swung out and down to attach/unattach the spare tire with the tire resting on the ground. |
Closeup of the J bolts that hold the assembly to the bumper. | This is the position, locked in place, that the tire is attached/unattached. Note that it is spring loaded to assist in lifting and lowering the tire. The wheel is attached to the piece that is hanging down so the wheel and tire remain in the upright position when lowering or raising the spare tire assembly. | ||
