Rt 66 Rally - 2009
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums)

This is a photo gallery of a few of the photos taken by Stephen Heinrichs. The first few pictures document a little of the 2,000 mile trip it took to get to the rally location in Springfield, MO from California. The rest of the pictures document the visits to special attractions arranged by the Rally Master and Route 66 itself. A great time was had by all.

But guess who is still up front leading the way! Why it is Jim Woestman, the Rt 66 rally Master. Originally, only Denny and Stephen were were going to caravan on to the Four Corners rally in Colorado, but during the course of this rally we convinced Jim to join us. He then lead us the rest of the way to Tulsa on Rt 66 and then we jumped on the freeway and the three of us caravaned for the next three days the rest of the way to Colorado. See the Four Corners album for "the rest of the story".

We had a late lunch at the only remaining Ku Ku fast food place. It has ku ku or coo coo clocks as it's main theme. This was the official end of the Route 66 rally and the Clugstons headed back north towards home.

This is a view of the upper lobby area. Visit www.colemantheater.com for more information. If we had time, we would have stayed for the evening performance.

This chandelier was missing and has now been recovered. The restoration of the theatre has been very well done.

I don't know the seating capacity, but this will give you a feel for the size.

Denny and Roy taking a small break in the nice seats.

Some of the interior.

And what a theatre it is!!

We arrived in Miami, Okalahoma to visit the Coleman Theatre.

Back on the road.

Here are the three and a half coaches. The Klugston's van being the "half". I want to point out that they went the extra mile to participate and support the FMC community. Rallies are about coaches, but they are also about people and fellowship. If your coach can't make a rally in your area, you still can as demonstrated by Ken and Lynn. If there is a rally in your area, the rest of us will still expect you!

Route 66 takes one through a lot of nice country and neighborhoods.
