Here is a close up of the ground cable attachment point in an unused bolt hole on the face of the block (it was found by feeling). The surface of the block was lightly sanded to remove any paint so a good contact would be assured.

Here is the new location of the new 00 gage ground cable. Note that it goes directly from the battery to the engine block to provide full starting voltage. The old ground cable is still attached to the orginal FMC location on the frame. It was removed. That location requires the starting current to travel from the battery through a cable to and along the frame and then through a second cable. Two cables and four connections for the ground side alone. Due to the new cable and the new direct attachment location, the one volt drop between the block and the negative battery terminal during cranking that my coach was experiencing was eliminated. The old frame to block cable by the starter remains to provide grounding for all of the other chassis circuits.

...where the other curved end of the fill tube goes through a rubber bushing into the valve cover. The hose that is inserted in the middle lengthens the orginal tube to fit the FMC.

After the oil is poured, it follows the tube down to...

Here is the oil fill tube installed. By being located close to the rear edge of the opening, it is easy to slowly or rapidly pour the oil without spilling a drop. The curve in the tube results in an almost vertical fill tube. Sweet!!

Here you see the remote oil fill tube from a Dodge van that will later be installed to allow filling the oil from the radiator fill hatch. Note the curve to the tube. This is important to allow non-spill filling.

Both the pizza and the shade are gone, but work progresses.

This photo shows the reason that the exhaust manifold was being worked on. See the two locations where there is black soot. Those are the two places where the exhaust manifold gasket was missing. After the manifold was pulled off, we were able to check the plane of the mating surface and it was too dished to put it back on. Also it had a fine crack on the top. Fortunately Eric had a new one in his garage so we replaced this one with the new one.

Eric is very dedicated. Note that he is still working even though there is a slice of pizza on a plate waiting for him.

Here is the condenser guard back in place. This is the location of the condensers for coach #646 and up.

This is the auto AC condenser guard waiting to be reinstalled. It was removed a while back when I had to remove one of the condensers and have it repaired.

The newly lubricated power step undergoing testing - it passed!
