Bathroom upgrades - 1046
Author: BigRabbitMan (Show all albums) It was time to do a couple of upgrades to the bathroom. |
| |||||
New SS flex lines were attached to the faucets and, with the proper fittings, attached to the trimmed hot/cold lines. This where I did have an issue as the old copper lines seem to be slightly larger than modern copper lines so I had to use emery cloth to slightly reduce the outside diameter of the lines so that the new fittings would slip over the old copper lines. All is now good! | New faucet is attached. Doesn't it look a whole lot better than the old one! | The next step was to clean the top of the counter to prepare it for the new unit. | First step was to trim the ends of the copper lines.
Originally, the copper lines are run all the way to the faucets and directly connected. That will have to change. | After undoing the undercounter stuff, I removed the old unit. What a mess it left! | The next project was this sad looking bathroom faucet. It is the original unit. | You can see how I lined up the right base with the edge of the door. This one is the standard 18" length. It could have been narrowed by triming the length of the bar, but I think it will be fine.
Note that it is not centered. I shifted it slightly to the right so that there would be good clearance between the rack and the door jamb. | The first was adding a towel bar to the inside of the bathroom door. Picked out this wood one as it blends with the door and, if it turns out that it stands out too far from the door face, I can trim the height of the standoffs.
