Location: Canton, (Sixes) GA (24.30.36.240) | Just got back from a four day/three night camping trip to Moccasin Creek State Park (smallest in GA I think, 55 sites). It's on Lake Burton and adjacent to a fish hatchery. Peaceful, we rode bikes, hiked a couple of miles on the Hemlock Falls Trail. Roy made some new friends and went fishing with them and played in the lake (boat ramp). Glenn and Lana Martin (coach 852 and a transit parts coach) came by (sans coach) and visited a spell. Ate lunch at the Dawsonville Pool Room (tons of Bill Elliot memorabilia) and also the Smith house in Dahlonega, Georgia. Put about 250 miles on 890, ran fine, ran the North Ga mountains just fine. Doubt we can come up with anything for October, leaf changing season and campgrounds are already booked full....Good to be home... Denny |
