Regular ![]() ![]() Location: Lavallette, NJ 08735 | Hi all, been awhile since I actually had the time to put into the old girl. I bought it with an upgraded edlebrock 4200 series carb, and it ran decent. Fuel pump was leaking, and replaced with whatever auto parts store gave me. Since then it starts strong, then just dies out, and will not restart (until the next time I try 2 weeks later). Now I had a helper scope it out back there while attempting to start, and fuel shoots out the top of the carb. Looked it up, and seems that carb will do that under too much pressure situation. Is it possible that there would be a fuel pressure regulator thingamajigl or any suggestions on reducing pressure (as economically and effectively as possible). Would I be able to get a fuel pump that simply pumps at a reduced pressure? Sorry, just not a gear head, but try what I can. Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Ignacio Colorado | The stock fuel pump pressure spec is 5-7 psi. they make a fuel pressure regulator that you can dial in to whatever pressure you wish. The problem is your carb needs new needle and seat fuel valves. A rebuild kit will have them in it. Bill | ||

However, a number of owners over time added an access panel to their coaches. This was particularly true of the earliest coaches as the top of the engine compartment is lower for those coaches than later ones. </font></p><p><font size="3">As a result, yours may or may not have an access panel.</font></p> | ||

I gotta do something, as it is nearly impossible for me to get in there and see anything, let alone work on it. I don't see anything there, so I'll probably have to open her up... Anyway the access panel, itself, went well; just don't cut through your wires mounted directly below to firewall... But, unfortunately, either I spoke too soon, or simply didn't wait long enough for things to go wrong; again. The good news: she went about 70 miles under her own power yesterday (after almost 2 years idle)! The bad news: she ain't goin' nowhere at the moment... | ||
