Regular
Location: Santa Cruz, Calif. | I posted this in the Yahoo Groups but to make sure all club members get to see it, I am reposting it here.
You are invited to join us at the Quartzite rally of Aero-Cruisers on Jan 21-22-23 2011.
Quartzite is a small, hole-in-the-wall community that has about 6,000 residents in the summer and about 40,000 snowbirds in the winter. The big draw is the many, many flea markets. The A-C group stays at Greasewood, which is a dry camp, dirt field. If I remember right, the cost is about $14/night and the only club fee is to bring wood for the nightly fire.
The big advantage to Greasewood is that it is within walking distance of 2 major flea markets, the RV tent and the gems. These sellers come with 50 gallon drums of gems and have the lowest prices anywhere (so my wife tells me, and she hits all the gem shows).
I asked, Rick Kraftt, our President and rally master, if we could accomodate some FMCs and make it a unique RV rally. If anyone is interested in joining us, you may come and leave at any time, but the club dates are Fri, Jan 21st, thru Sun 23rd. We hold informal potlucks Fri and Sat. We park in a circle and gather in the middle.
If you would like to attend, please let me know and I can start getting a coach count together to make sure we have enough room. I have one committment already and it should be enlightening for all.
Remember, it's dry camping. You may run your gennys, but only during the day. I've been to Qz many times and only once did we have scattered showers. Otherwise it's warm and sunny.
