After traveling over 4600 miles over seven weeks this summer coach #94 caught fire and burned. Two weeks after returning from my out west journey which included a stop at Red Oak II for the rally my coach caught fire in my driveway while I was backing it into its parking spot. No one was injured and other than a couple of trees nothing else burned. It took me also two months to settle with my insurance company and I wanted to complete that process before posting the demise. The fire started in the engine compartment and within 15 minutes had the coach completely inflamed, my rural fire department arrive about 20 minutes after the fire started and put it out. I'll post some pictures of the fire. After a lot of thought I decided not to get another FMC at this time. I loved the journey of restoring it but just cant do that again. Lots of great people on this forum many I have met in person and that I will certainly miss.
RIP #94
Jon

Jon, it was great meeting you in person at the rally last summer. Sorry to hear of the demise of #94 but sometimes we just have to adjust to what life directs our way.

Should anyone be interested in the remains of the coach, here is where it is located per an email from Jon.

it is always sad and with heavy heart that we learn of the loss of one more FMC. Jon, be assured that you are still with us in one way or another.

Sorry for your loss...Not sure why #94 burnt up, but this should be a reminder to all who own FMC's. KEEP YOUR ENGINE AND BAY CLEAN OF GREASE, AND MAKE SURE YOUR RUBBER FUEL LINES ARE YOUNG AT HEART!!! This is no joke....

Yeah, sorry to hear about this Jon.

Glad you are all okay. Could you share the cause if/when discovered, please?
