Elite Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Victoria, BC. Canada | In a bit of a pinch and was hoping someone might have a brand name and part # for the 21" rubber (or braided SS) flexible brake hoses for the FMC? My coach is stuck 200 miles away over a crazy mountain road and I have to be certain to take the right part with me. Unfortunately, the blown hose was inadvertently left with the coach so I don't have it on hand to compare with a replacement. Service Manual says the fronts are 21" and the rears are 18" but the Parts Manual part number (5100778-01) for the hose don't seem to be of much use. Any and all help greatly appreciated. Thanks, Terry #846

Elite Veteran ![]() ![]() Location: Medford, OR | Oh bummer! You left/forgot the hose at the coach? That's broke 200 miles away???? Damn Terry. I know somewhere here (or) on the Yahoo page someone posted a part number for these way back........search, I'll look some too. I know they are a standard off the shelf brake line that Napa and probably all the other part stores carry's in stock....Wish I could be more of a help. Dan #850

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Cottage Grove, OR | Ok, time to get resourceful! Take the brake line you purchased and find a cap to plug the end of the hose. Install the hose on the coach but do not attach it to wheel cylinder. Tie the hose up so that it is secure and will not get tangled in anything. Your left front brake will not work, but you can drive it home with the two rear brakes and one front. Not ideal and you will have adjust your driving style accordingly. Low speeds only and go down grades in first gear so that you do not need to use your brakes except for slow speed stops.

Elite Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Victoria, BC. Canada | FRONT BRAKE HOSE: Well I managed to retrieve my coach okay. Had two new hoses made up at a local shop and thought I'd post the specs here for future reference. Hose length: (Service Manual: Group 9 pp.15) Front = 21". Rear = 18". Female fitting (chassis end of hose) = 7/16" x 24 (Thanks again Lou!) Male end (into wheel cylinder) = 7/16" x 20 Note: The one that blew out on my coach measured 23" overall. I had the new ones made the same but have yet to put the coach up on jack-stands to check the clearance on full rotation of the steering. The one that blew out was chaffing and I need to verify why. Hope this helps someone out someday, somewhere... sometime. Terry #846
