Elite Veteran Location: Victoria, BC. Canada | Sadly, buddy Jay in Arlington - north of Seattle - has to sell his 35-ft MCC coach real quick. Status: project coach and will need to be towed/trailered out of there. Power: Cat 3208 with Allison trans. Jay is asking $2000.00 for it. From the Barthmobile website: "1981 to Mid 1982 "MCC By Barth" These were 35' Fiberglass Bodied Coach built in California with the interior being finished in Milford. 8.2L Detroit Diesel Pusher coaches on a 4 wheel independent suspension. Air over hydraulic 4 wheel disc brakes. Because of chassis limitations, 35' was the only length offered." http://barthmobile.com/gallery-5.shtml (MCC in center of page) The windshields (which are identical to the FMC's) are currently out of the coach and the steering column is lying down but apparently the coach can be steered. As most of you likely know already, these coaches also have the same disc brakes that were used on the FMC transit units. If you or someone you know is interested in this rare coach(one of only 40 built), please let me know as I'm trying to help him sell it. He and his wife have sold their house and the coach has to go quick. Cheers, Terry #846

Elite Veteran Location: Victoria, BC. Canada | Hey George, Dunno for sure but I seem to recall it might have been a factory set up. Terry #846

Elite Veteran Location: Oceanside, CA | a 1650lbs chunk hanging out back...I guess the length stretch kept the front tires on the ground..

Elite Veteran Location: Victoria, BC. Canada | Morning, Good article on these coaches: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=... With the 8.2 Detroit they came in @ 19 - 20,000/GVW so prolly 2 or 300/lbs heavier with the Cat. I should find out from Jay if they actually put Cat's in them later on, or, if it's a retrofit. Interesting story behind these coaches and considering they sold for over $150/k back in the day, the ask on this one is giving it away. Terry #846

Elite Veteran Location: Oceanside, CA | dry weight on an 8.2 is 1150lbs, looking at 500 more for a 3208 and another 80-100lbs if it's a turbo3208

Elite Veteran Location: Oceanside, CA | if it's modified to handle the weight it would be a good power plant, they used the 3208T in FC31 and FC35 Wanderlodges (a good 10000-12000lbs heavier) for many years.

Elite Veteran Location: Victoria, BC. Canada | Yeah. I love Cat stuff; pricey though. Ran Cat 966 - 970 loaders for my cousin-in-law for a year or so. Amazing machines. Terry #846

Elite Veteran Location: Victoria, BC. Canada | Morning, Confirmed you were right (again) Lenny: the Cat in this coach was added by a PO and the diff was supplied by MCR, ILL. Jay surmised the swap was done for more grunt for towing. Cheers, Terry #846

Contributor | Terry, To keep you posted on Jay's rig, he sent me a bunch of photos which I reviewed. I discussed the purchase with my wife who has no interest in the project, shame as I believe it has great potential. Thus I informed Jay I will not be purchasing the rig. I sure hope someone else does it would be a shame to end up as a donor. Again thanks for helping, Dennis
