Looking at the new pictures of #1001 and the burned glow plug. Has anyone seen this happen and leave anything left to be removed? I have seen them burn up but not leave parts to be removed after the top portion is removed. Bill

Bill,
Thanks for commenting on this. You bring new hope to my problem. Before removing the head I will await more info on the possibility the plug tip has disintegrated.

I would concur with Bill in that it is very unlikely that anything remains in the engine. I expect that it burnt away from the end up to the point it is now rather than breaking off and leaving a loose piece.
