(76.238.161.207) | Hello Everyone! My Father and I have just become the new owners of a 2900R. I found this site and figured this would be the place to get the info we need to bring it back to life.
First I should say I registered on the site using coach number 1000. I honestly do not know what the actual number is. Maybe someone could tell me where to look for it.
OK, here's the story. Someone donated this coach to the Red Cross. My Father is a mechanic and regularly does work for them. The coach was brought to the shop with transmission problems. The repair bill was more than the Red Cross wanted to pay. So for the cost of a tow bill, we now own it.
Now since there are so few of these around, maybe someone here knows something about ours. It is white, and has green and gray stripes with a Philadelphia Eagles Helmet logo on each side. There is a dealer plate on the back from Pennsylvania. Sorry some of my details are sketchy, I've only seen the coach once, so far.
Any help on finding parts would be greatly appreciated. First and foremost, the brakes are not good, and before we pull the wheels off to check them we need to locate a source for axel seals and brake parts. The passenger side windshield is cracked and will need to be replaced, $$$? The exterior is not good. The fiberglass is very dull and cracked in a few places. Everything seem to be there though.
Now for the good news, the air-conditioner and generator both work perfectly. The interior is in fair shape. The carpet has to go. The cabinets are all in good shape, as well as the cushions and tables. The counter-tops are in bad shape, as well as a bad color. As for the appliances, we don't know. The cook-top looks suspect. It has an oven over the cook-top that looks like it's never been used. The refridgerator? All we know for sure is it is gas powered.
This is our first foray into RV'ing. We probably could have picked something a little easier to fix up, but this is an unplanned adventure. I am looking forward to learning about this unique vehicle.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice!
