Contributor Location: Walla Walla, WA | Drove up to the Columbia River near Brewster, WA last weekend and developed a pretty good front main seal leak. Any tips / tricks to replacing this seal and getting it right? After looking it over, I'm assuming it's best to remove the radiator for access and cleaning? Pretty well coated with oil and dirt now. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Mike

Extreme Veteran ![]() Location: Scottsdale, Aridzona | Hey Mike, Radiator weighs 113 lbs . . . be prepared . . . steel toe shoes/boots. If you can find a Restaurant Service Company that STEAM CLEANS the filters above the cooking stoves . . . they can really externally clean that radiator CORE (tubes/fins). Front main seal ? duh ? The seal in the timing chain cover on the water pump end of the engine (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-tcs124602/overview/make/dodge - Set includes the seal for the crankshaft) . . . or the one at the transmission end of the engine (Mopar #3549394 or Fel-Pro #BS40240) which will also need an oil pan gasket (Mopar #2658685 or Fel-Pro #OS11729C1), or two if you have a windage tray ? There are lots of U-tube videos of changing the Crankshaft rear main seal at the transmission end of the engine - https://www.google.com/search?q=replace+rear+main+seal... Seal ON ! Contributor Location: Walla Walla, WA | Hi Lou, Thank you for the heads up on the radiator. It is the seal in the timing chain cover that is leaking and I appreciate the item numbers. I remember reading one of your other posts about the harmonic balancer and will take a close look at that as well. Sealing ON. Thank you, Mike #862
