I've made some changes and enhancements, let me know what you think:

The "Member Roster" has a field called "MBBS Login" which contains the login information for the member here at the Forum. If that field is populated correctly, the member can update their own record. Administrators & officers in the Club can update anyone's record.

The Coach Database is an export from a file created at the Yahoo group, which many people contributed to, and I recall that Leslie spent a lot of time updating it. I added a status field, and "Member ID" for those in the Coach Database who have a record in the Member Roster. You can sort and filter or jump to a specific coach number.

If the member is recorded, the Coach DB reflects their name with a link to their roster record. If not, it displays any phone or email information recorded from the old Yahoo version. I added "Owner Name' in case we ever gather that information.

You must be registered in the Forum to view the membership, but any guest can view the Coach DB. Only the owner of the coach or an administrator can make changes.

Let me know if you think the security I've configured is correct, or if we should allow more or less access to this information.

Thanks!

member roster and coach DB are in the menu at the very top, after "User Listing" and before the right hand links to forum, calendar and albums.

"Flood Control" is a feature to prevent spammers from sending us a ton of messages all in a row. It's adjustable (if I recall correctly) and an administrator can turn it up, down or off.

I think as a guest you were not permitted to post more than one message within five minutes. does that seem unreasonable?

One club member brought to my attention that, having joined the forum, the membership roster still did not reflect his membership information.

Since the lists "club membership" and "forum membership" are two different files, I've manually copied one to the other.

With hope, I will soon receive Karen's list of club membership, and this will no longer be a problem.

Meanwhile, in the next few days or weeks, I will program the website to update the roster with new forum member information.

Thanks for your patience.

well, I've only been doing it ten years, and it seems I get better and better every week. I just need one more pro-bono account to push me over the edge. (I host 12 sites now, and have another no-fee prosepect, oh joy!)

No, Seriously: I have a paying client this week, and another in the wings. Looks like that will keep me in burbon and cigarettes for another month. If the wife keeps paying the mortgage, I'm all set.

But you probably don't know what I'm talking about

best wishes,

Jim
