LCAC_Man #1027 LBZ Duramax Conversion

Author: LCAC_Man (Show all albums) This album will cover the Duramax/Allison conversion(including dash cluster integration), installation of airbags to assist suspension, conversion of vacuum brakes to Hydroboost, replacement of Onan gas generator with a Onan/Cummins 5500LP, inverter/charger installation, dual roof a/c installation, and Bedroom reconfiguration that will add "pass-thru" storage.

dual puller fans will do the heavy lifting	dual trans coolers will sit above the intercoolers	got a start on the "cooler corner"...I need some Argon so that I can start tacking pieces together for this install	plenty of circuits to choose from..
vertical mounting plate for the computers is made from 1/4" HDPE that I had left over from another project	I had to abort the further rear mounting position for the relay/fuse box, I didn't feel like extending 15-20 power wires just to make it happen.	New interface junction box installed, this will be where the FMC wire harness integrates with the duramax.	modified (just tacked together)the coolant outlet pipe so that it will exit right at the center inlet of the radiator, I don't have a TIG welder so I'm going to get one of the guys at work to complete the welding on it.
broke out the fire wrench and got rid of the old battery mount, mocking up the new fuse/relay box, ECM and TCM will mount(vertically) right above it on the frame rail	tail pipe extension for the engine, the generator tail pipe will be just above it	tucked it up in the crossmember notch, there will be an additional generator muffler just above and outboard of this muffer with it exhausting just above the engine tail pipe	Pretty straight forward package, 3.5" mandrel bend, v-band clamp and a muffler.
