Decided to sell my 3.73 diff. Selling AS-IS with no warranty stated or implied.

IT'S BEEN STORED OUTSIDE - COVERED - ON A PALLET FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS OR SO. IT LIKELY HAS SOME OIL IN IT BUT NOT SURE HOW MUCH AS A BUNCH LEAKED OUT DURING TRANSPORT WHEN I SET IT DOWN WITH THE AIR-BREATHER DOWNWARD IN THE BACK OF MY TRUCK. IT SHOWS SOME EXTERIOR SURFACE RUST.

Will ship anywhere in North America. FOB - Victoria BC. Canada V9C 4G7

I will deliver to the shipper/terminal of your choice anywhere on southern Vancouver Island, and/or, the greater Vancouver, BC. area for an extra fee.

Perspective buyers/bidders should get shipping quotes before bidding on this diff. DHL quoted me $1000.00/CAD + duty/taxes, 2-day air freight from Victoria to Kansas City, approx. (1500-miles to give you a rough idea). I expect trucking it should be less I think.

THIS IS UP FOR GRABS TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER OVER THE NEXT 30 DAYS, OR, UNTIL MY 'RESERVE-PRICE' IS MET, WHICHEVER HAPPENS FIRST.

SEE PICS OF IT IN MY #846 CUMMINS SWAP ALBUM SECTION.
http://www.fmcowners.com/mbbs22/photos/show-album.asp?albumid=191&p...

IF AND WHEN ANY OFFER IS SUPERSEDED BY A HIGHER ONE, I WILL POST THAT OFFER ON THIS WEBSITE ON THIS THREAD, SO IT'S ACCESSIBLE TO ALL.

I will accept an E-transfer for payment. Buyer to arrange shipping and prepayment of same.

WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THIS RS-15120 IS AS PER A LENGTHY PHONE CONVERSATION WITH CHRIS HOAGLAND A FEW MONTHS BACK. CHRIS IS THE SON OF THE LATE, LESLIE HOAGLAND OF MCR (MOTOR COACH RESTORATION, ILL.).

HE REMEMBERED THIS PARTICULAR DIFFERENTIAL AS HE WAS INVOLVED IN THE SALE/DELIVERY OF IT TO AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN IN WASHINGTON STATE IN 2001', WHO THEN OWNED THE MCC/BARTH COACH IT WAS INSTALLED IN AND THAT I WOULD LATER RETRIEVE IT FROM WHEN IT WAS PARTED OUT 2 OR 3 YRS AGO.

CHRIS HAD A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL INVOICE AND SHARED SOME OF WHAT WAS ON IT WITH ME.

HE CONFIRMED IT WAS A ROCKWELL RS-15120/3.73:1-RATIO DIFFERENTIAL.

SOLD NEW TO MCC OWNER IN JUNE, 2001 FOR: $4621.54/USD (ROUGHLY: $6600 TODAY

THIS IS A CUSTOM BUILT UNIT AND IS 'VERY RARE'.

CHRIS SAID HE'D BE SURPRISED IF IT HAD MORE THAN 5000 MILES ON IT.

INCLUDED IS WHAT IS IN THE PICS INCLUDING THE PROP SHAFTS FROM THE MCC COACH. THE MOUNTING BARS ARE THE SAME AS PER THE FMC MOTORCOACH AND CHRIS STATED THAT IT WOULD BOLT-INTO THE FMC. PROP SHAFTS AND U-JOINTS MAY HAVE TO BE CHANGED.

BUYER TO CONFIRM FITMENT.

I am now accepting offers on it and will work diligently with any and all perspective buyers to expedite this transaction honestly and securely.

I am not looking to make a killing on this but I do know what it's worth and now you do, too.

Email me with questions/offers: silversaw@telus.net

Thanks,
Terrry

Addendum:  "THIS IS UP FOR GRABS TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER OVER THE NEXT 30 DAYS, OR, UNTIL MY 'RESERVE-PRICE' IS MET, WHICHEVER HAPPENS FIRST. "THE AUCTION WILL END SEPT. 17TH AND AT THAT TIME THE HIGHEST BID OVER $500.00 USD WILL WIN THE AUCTION. AGAIN, BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING. NOTE: IF A $500.00 USD MINIMUM BID IS NOT GENERATED AT THE END OF THE AUCTION I WILL SELL THE DIFF FOR SCRAP, WHICH WOULD BE UNFORTUNATE. THE $500.00 USD IS NOT MY RESERVE SELLING PRICE, ONLY A MINIMUM 'END-OF-AUCTION' SELLING PRICE.

There’s a home for it somewhere. Is there a Barth forum somewhere that can also it to?

Yes, the Barth thing is done, too. Problem is they only built 40 something of them IIRC. Not certain as I haven't checked, but I think the prop-shafts & U-joints on the MCC are bigger, so a buyer would have to figure that out for the FMC application. Chris Hoagland said he's kept a couple of these diff's on hand for the families FMC's.

If the stub axles are the same spline/size as the FMC I have plenty of new output yokes.

UPDATE: Confirmed that the 3.73 differential has the same size propeller and pinion shafts as the FMC coaches.

Takes a 1.25"-18 flange nut; part #1227Z936. There are 3 of these on it along with the mounting bars, 3 - yokes and 2 - propeller-shafts which may have to be changed out to work with an FMC.

I've added more pics and a couple of sketches of the RS-15120 if it helps anyone confirm fitment.

Pics here: http://www.fmcowners.com/mbbs22/photos/show-album.asp?albumid=191&p...

Any questions don't hesitate to email me.

Thanks,
Terry

NOTICE:

AS I WOULD LIKE TO MOVE THIS DIFFERENTIAL SOONER VS LATER, BE ADVISED THAT I'M TOSSING MY 'AUCTION' IDEA OUT THE WINDOW AND EXPANDING MY ADVERTISING OPTIONS TO SELL IT.

THIS - EXTREMELY RARE - ROCKWELL RS-150-20 IS NOW OFFERED FOR SALE AT $3000.00/USD OR BEST OFFER. BUYER PAYS SHIPPING.

HOPE THIS SIMPLIFIES MATTERS IF I CREATED ANY CONFUSION WITH MY ORIGINAL SELLING PLAN.

DON'T HESITATE TO CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS.

In case anyone needs to know, thought I'd post some specs on what this diff will do for your cruising economy and speed.

In this scenario: swapping the 3.73 diff in place of the 4.625 OEM diff while keeping the stock 727 (1:1 final drive ratio) transmission with the 440' engine...

- with the 3.73 diff and 33" tires cruising @ 70 mph = 2658 rpm
- with the 4.625 diff and 33" tires @ 70 mph = 3300 rpm

Difference = 642 rpm lower engine speed.

This should realize a 20 - 25% fuel savings going down the road with a simple differential swap, depending on how heavy your foot is.

Need to move this and don't want to see it end up as scrap as its too rare and valuable.

Try your offer!

Thanks,
Terry
