I needed to replace the domestic batteries in coach #386 so I did a little online checking. I like using two 6 volt golf cart batteries connected in a series manner rather than two twelve volt units connected in parallel.

After some research, I found the ones at BattiesPlus that are labeled as Duracell match what I have purchased elsewhere for more money.
Here is a link if you are in the market for domestic batteries:

The two 6 volt batteries are much easier to check the water than two 12 volt units in my opinion.

I need to advise that this is the tallest battery that will fit into the space under the driver's feet.

Do these 6v bats fit with the factory hold downs?

I have never seen hold downs in the domestic battery box under the driver's feet. I have put small wooden spacers to prevent shifting of the batteries.

When I was shopping batteries for #850, I ended up just using two 12v bats because I didn't want to change the hold down hardware. I guess I could of used 6v bats if I would of done some more homework...

I got hold-downs, too. Yes they do work on 6-volt batts. At least mine does.
