Mine is a transit bus conversion. I have located the wire that attaches to the sending unit, but can't find the unit! Have looked all around the water pump/thermostat area. I certainly can't see one where the diagrams say it's located, but that's for the motorhome and my conversion could be different.

That's water/coolant temp sending unit btw.

I found it! Thanks for the response Stephen. I'm sure I disconnected it when I had that whole end of the engine exposed. I replaced the original distributor with an all in one unit, had the water pump off and changed the timing chain. Naturally, had the radiator off then too. Going to be tricky getting it re-attached with the radiator in the way.
