Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!  We are going to have a Fall Rally out here in the West.  And since we are in the West, it is going to be held in '49er Gold Rush country where the West is still alive!  Specifically, it will be at the Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in Plymonth, CA.  It is a very nice campground at reasonable rates with good facilities.  More information will be coming later, so for now block out those days on your calendar.  That is Nov 9-11, 2012 and the time to get here as well.  You can come early if you like as there is a lot to do in the area.

You are welcome with or without your coach.  The are rental cabins on site and motels in the area if your coach is being reworked like mine is.  There is a lot to do in the area as this is the old Gold Rush area of California with many small towns and interesting things to see and do.

Here is the link to the RV park website: www.49ervillage.com  Doesn't that look interesting!

But that isn't all!  It looks like we will have a guest speaker at the rally that really has a unique perspective of our FMC coaches.  It seems that he built the original jigs for the coaches down at the FMC facility in Riverside, CA including the prototype twin engined, 4 wheel drive coach.  I think you will enjoy getting a first person account of some of the beginings of our coaches.  You can only hear it by being there!

I will see you there.  Registration information will be coming in the near future so start airing the tires, oiling the hinges and putting fuel in the tank so that you will be ready, willing and able to come join a number of other FMC coach owners having an educational and fun time.

See you there,

The time to get ready to roll to the rally is drawing near!

If you are West of the Atlantic Ocean, you need to seriously plan on
attending. We currently have 9 coaches and 11 owners scheduled to attend.
If you have not yet advised me of your intentions, please do so soon. Use
either
stephen@heinrichs.com or 916-425-7996. I want to hear from you even
if you are not coming.

The procedures for this rally are a little different than for the last
couple of rallies. Greg M. has placed a deposit that is holding 16 spaces.
He will assign those spaces to the expected rally attendees. This is why we
need to know if you are coming. When you get to the campground and check in
you will pay for the space that Greg assigned you to at that point in time.
Greg will have provided the campground with your assigned space number.
About a week before the rally, the unassigned spaces will be released and
that time is drawing near.

Again, here is the link to the campground website where you can get
directions to the location.
www.49ervillage.com . It is about an hour East
of either Sacramento or Stockton.

As all of you that have been in that area know, there are many little towns
that originated during the California gold rush in the area. We are south
of Coloma, the site of the original gold discovery and north of Yosemite on
CA Hwy 49. Days should be warm in the sun, but the evenings will be cool so
bring clothes for all types of weather. A schedule of planned events will
be created before long. Also, we are going to have a Rally Fee of $20 per
coach to cover any miscellaneous rally costs.

Also remember that we are having a Guest Speaker who made the original jigs
for the construction of the coaches we drive. He was also, therefore,
involved in building the first several coaches including the prototype four
wheel drive coach. It should be interesting to visit with him, but you have
to be there to be able to ask him any questions. He will be at the rally on
Saturday from noon to about 5pm.

The current list of attendees include people coming from: Boulder City, CA;
Gilroy, CA; Benicia, CA; Cupertino, CA; Dixon, CA; Davis, CA; La Canada, CA;
Salem, OR; Carthage, MO; Lake Balboa, CA; and Crescent City, CA. Now is the
time to join with this fine group for a great, relaxing FMC weekend. You
don't have anything better to do, so give me a call and come and join us.

For those who are already scheduled to attend, I look forward to seeing you there.  For everyone else, the RV park has been accommodating and we can still get you with the group if you give us a call.  It is a going to be a great rally with the guest speaker and a great group of attendees.  We are up to 10 FMC coaches and a couple more without coaches or with SOB.

There are going to be some interesting stories told at this rally.  To hear them, you need to be there!  Call either Greg Miller at 831-428-2668 or Stephen Heinrichs at 916-425-7996 to reserve your spot.  Come meet FMC coach owners you have never met before!

The weather will be cool, but no rain is forecast.

What a great rally! Congrats to Rallymaster Greg for arranging a fun, social and instructive event. He even arranged for sunny days! And Stephen provided the incredible FMC Firebox.

What more could a person ask for?

Thanks leaders and members for a memorable weekend.

I just remembered that I had not advised the group that the photo album for the rally has been completed and posted on this site in the photo gallery at this location: http://www.fmcowners.com/mbbs22/photos/photo-thumbnails.asp?albumid... .

As Larry has said, the group had a wonderful time and we were joined by a new rally attendee. It is always nice to have new attendee's at a rally. See the photo album for details about their coach, but it was better in person. Things are always better in person and that is why many of us do everything possible to be at all the rallies that we can possibly attend.

Our Guest, Don Reed, was the Tool and Die Maker who was responsible for making the original jigs for building our coaches. He had a very enjoyable visit and those of us who were able to visit with him learned a lot of interesting tidbits about the early days of the FMC Motor Coach Division.

So now is the time for each of us to mark our calendars for upcoming rallies. Details are in each of the latest club Newsletters. After distribution to club members, all newsletters are posted on this site so if you can't locate your copy just come to this site and download or print a new copy.

See you at the next rally,

Tracie and I are the "NEW BE's" of the club. I would like to thank everybody involved and that showed up for the great rally we had. What a great bunch of people. We learned soo much about the coach and possibilities for improvement.

Looking forward to the next rally in California.

MO. in 2014 sounds great and possible, however, @ 5 MPG = $3780 and 7 MPG = $2700 no wonder the Diesel is so attractive. Better start saving my pennies now.

Thanks again for a great time,
Paul and Tracie Hankerson #763
