After much deliberation, trial & error and burnt fingers after literally shock-blasting the freakin' switch out of my hands - I finally figured out a lighted switch for my overdrive and lockup solenoids on my 47RH.

I tried a 3-pole switch but couldn't get it to work so the toggle light was 'ON' when the circuit was closed.

So I got me a couple of these: https://cemarine.com/products/cole-hersee-illuminated-toggle-switch-...

The acrylic/Lucite switch lights up clear in the down 'OFF' position and red in the up 'ON' position.

I tried their two different wiring options they showed on line but couldn't get it to do what I wanted.

As I was nearly ready to quit and take a hammer to these switches, I tried one last idea I came up with. I sourced the positive input for the switch lights (terminal #4) then used the #6 to ground it. That gave me a clear/white light in the down position and a red switch light in the up (on) position. I had previously determined that #2 (+) also controlled continuity to #3 and that this circuit was independent of the #4 & #6 light circuit. I ran the trans wire (either L/U or O/D) to #2 then grounded it to the chassis from #3. I kept the two ground wires separated but am unclear if it's required.

Put another 10 miles on the coach today and had a blast messing with this set up. Real simple to use and with the dual-colour lighted switches, I may even be able to see them at night.

I've added a pic of the switch and a simple wiring diagram I did on this configuration in my Cummins swap album.
