Location: Victoria, BC. Canada | Now at the brake-service stage of #846's refit and after again reviewing the ample brake-service history records I have on this coach, I've decided to go ahead and replace the brake-line tubing on the coach. After dropping serious coin on a new exhaust brake and with the disc-brake/hydro-boost conversion looming large, new brake lines are something of a no-brainer I figure. Records show they are all over 20 yrs old now.
Recently learned about 'Ni-copp' brake lines and have decided that's the way to go. On a vehicle that spends so much time sitting, inside-outside corrosion is a huge issue with steel and even stainless-steel lines. Ni-copp is also way easier to form & flare than any other material.
Stumbled on this article and thought I'd share it with my fellow FMC'ers who may also be looking at replacing brake lines. Very informative...
