Location: New York City | Hi again. The tires that are on the coach now are Michelins 7.50 R 17xca. To my untrained eye, they look good, but the mechanic says they are rotted and need to be replaced. |

Location: Cottage Grove, OR | Due to Generally low miles per year, RV tire generally age out before they wear out. The tires deteriorate just sitting. The oils/compounds in the rubber evaporate and the rubber gets stiff and the the tire disintegrates while on the road. Tires getting over the eight year mark are very questionable. |

Location: Bethune, SC | These tires are even worse. They are radials, not designed to have tubes in them on rims not designed for them, probably with smiles along the bead.
These are blowouts waiting not for long to happen.

Location: New York City | Thanks so much for your helpful reply. Can you give me any advice on replacing the existing tires? Size, type, anything? I can't find any in the same size with a five lug rim. Thanks for your help. |

Location: Scottsdale, Aridzona | You should also replace the TUBES and the FLAPS. Recently made of either are hard to find. Tractor and Farm Equipment Dealers are more likely to have "newer" items For Sale.
You need a 17" tube that has the BENT Valve Stem - as shown - https://www.tireinnertube.com/17-inch-rim-diameter-tire-inner-tubes/...
These are OK - https://hancousa.com/storefrontCommerce/itemDetail.do?itm_id=3651&it...
and flap - https://hancousa.com/storefrontCommerce/itemDetail.do?itm_id=1025&it...
There are "others" on the Nets. Main issue is "fresh rubber". Several FMCers have had failures of Coker Tubes.
Use the Search on this FMC website to find stuff by Dan Karnath. He has a clever "improvement" to tubes, and other words about tube type 17" tires.
Here are Tires that some have had good life from . https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cok-71013/overview

My "improved" design flap fix wheels/tires are on a parts coach in Southern California now. Soon to be smashed I'm sure. |
